Home of the fighting chicken jack! The Poultry Science Program is a major field of study that is part of the Agriculture Department on the beautiful campus of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches Texas. We offer numerous courses related directly to field of poultry science with an emphasis on a "hands-on" approach that provides students with an applicable degree upon completion. This is accomplished with:

Nacogdoches, Texas lies within the heart of poultry country in the Lone Star State. Two
major integrators (Pilgrim's Pride and Tyson Foods) both have complexes located in
Nacogdoches and surrounding cities. Numerous allied industries are also located in
Nacogdoches. All of these
resources and more are available to the students that are going through our program. We
have one of the lowest student to instructor ratio of any collegiate agriculture program
in the state. Students are not mere numbers to us. They quickly become part of
our family.
